Our lives are very busy with work, family, friends, hobbies, church and other community
organizations.  Sometimes we feel we just cannot do one more thing.  I feel that way many times.  

I want to first thank you for being a member of our employee organization.  We all need each
other if we want to stay a strong voice for our very existence and for our benefits.  I for one still
enjoy what I am doing and believe strongly that I help make a difference with Agriculture.  I also
love my benefits!

With that said I would like to ask you to give some thought about helping in a small way.  If elected
your next president of SDASCOE I need people willing to help.  Don’t stop reading please hear
me out and please call if you need information about a particular position and the time involved.  
Give it a chance.  There are so many options, including co-chairs.  

We truly need the experienced people on board, but we need new and fresh ideas to help move
our organization into the next generation of FSA employees and members of SDASCOE/NASCOE.

There are a few that have said they are willing to help, but I am asking every member if you are
willing to help.  I want to let every member know what the positions are.  If you are willing to run or
serve please let me know.

  • President – I am running for this position – it is an elected position
  • Vice President – This is an elected position and your turn for President will follow (usually
    a 2 year term)
  • Treasurer – This is an elected position and Brenda Wicks will help you make a smooth
    transition.
  • Secretary – Racheal Kirkebak willing to run – this is an elected position
  • Awards and Scholarship Chairperson
  • Benefits Chairperson
  • Co - Legislative Chairperson and Capwiz Coordinator
  • Membership Chairperson
  • Programs and Emblems Chairperson
  • Publicity Chairperson
  • Ways and Means Chairperson
  • Webmaster

All of these positions have a job description and you can find that on the SDASCOE web site
(www.sdascoe.org ).  Or call and I will visit with you about the position with encouragement, not
pressure.  

Please remember that this year our even number district will be holding an election for Director
and Alternate Director.  Please consider placing your name on the ballot.  Again these positions
have a job description that helps give you information on what is expected of you.  This can be
found on www.sdascoe.org web site.

Please contact me as soon as possible if you are interested in one of these positions.  If elected
as your SDASCOE President I truly NEED you!
