March 1st is the deadline to submit an application for the NASCOE Member Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a NASCOE member who is furthering their education
I will be sending an e-mail asking for sick leave hours from SDASCOE members so that we can make that presentation at the State Convention.
I would like to remind all members to visit the NASCOE Website for a full booklet of information and instructions on making and presenting nominations for various awards.
Please consider submitting a nomination for a SDASCOE member who you feel is worthy of the following awards.
The Professional Improvement Award is an award that recognizes an individual who has taken advantage of educational opportunities available to them. Any member may submit an application or nomination for another member any time during the year to the state awards chairperson. The nomination must be for an employee with a permanent appointment.
The Extra Mile Award recognizes NASCOE members and their children that go the Extra Mile in their community, church, job, or in their school. These nominations can be submitted throughout the year to the respective State Awards Chair, then to the Area Awards Chair, then to the National Chair who will issue the certificates. For this award there are NO DEADLINES and they are not judged.
I would like to invite any member who is interested to attend the Awards Committee meeting at the State Convention and share any new ideas you may have or make suggestions to the awards program.
